When To Go

It is an unforgettable experience to visit Uganda and Rwanda at whatever time of year you go, and you will undoubtedly have a great time. If you were to avoid any time of year though, it would be the rainy season. the rainy seasons in both Uganda and Rwanda are March-April and November, though it can rain any time of year.

On the plus side, during these rainy seasons, the cost of some accommodation is reduced. On top of that, the views are often at their most spectacular this time of year.

However, the downside of going during the rainy season is that gorilla tracking and other hiking activities can become much more difficult in very slippery conditions. Also, road conditions deteriorate during these months, meaning that travelling times around the country are greatly increased. So we advise a less intensive itinerary during the rainy season, to allow more time for travelling.
