When To Go

It is an unforgettable experience to visit Uganda and Rwanda whatever time of year you go, and you will undoubtedly have a great time. If you were to avoid any time of year though, it would be the rainy season. the rainy seasons in both Uganda and Rwanda are March-April and November, though it can rain any time of year.

On the plus side, during these rainy seasons the cost of gorilla tracking permits is often reduced, and also, the cost of some accommodation is also reduced during these months. On top of that, the views are often at their most spectacular this time of year.

However, the downside of going during rainy season is that gorilla tracking and other hiking activities can become much more difficult in the very slippery conditions. Also, road conditions deteriate during these months, meaning that travelling times around the country are greatly increadsed. So we advise a less intensive itinerary during rainy season, to allow more time for travelling.
