Your flight to Kidepo leaves around midday and takes a little over two hours, though this sometimes varies. You should arrive at your lodge just in time to go out on a nature walk to see animal tracks and take in your magnificent surroundings. The lodge that you are staying at is one of the finest in Uganda and maybe even the whole of Africa. It offers excellent, uninterrupted views of the park and game is often seen wandering around the lodge. Sometimes you can see just as much game sat in the restaurant as you can out on a game drive.

Accommodation: Apoka Safari Lodge
Day 3: Game Drives
Kidepo is known as one of Africa’s last remaining wildernesses and was recently voted in the top three national parks in the whole of Africa, and it’s easy to see why. It combines unbelievable landscapes with a wide variety of big game, including three big cat species; lions, leopards and cheetahs. Also because of its remoteness, you often almost have the park to yourself. In the morning you will go out on a game drive at sunrise which is the best time to see the animals. In the afternoon you will take the drive to the valley itself, which offers excellent views and is the only place you can see an ostrich in the whole of Uganda.
Meals Included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Apoka Safari Lodge
Day 4: Game Drive and Back to Entebbe
After one last early morning game drive, you will head back to your lodge for lunch and some relaxing time as you wait for your afternoon flight back to Entebbe. For your evening meal, you can either eat at Boma or head out to one of Entebbe’s many restaurants.

Your lodge is inside the park itself, surrounded by dense jungle. The rooms are luxurious and offer excellent views of Bwindi, it really is a magical place to stay. You will relax here in the afternoon, taking in your breath-taking surroundings. If you would like something to do in the afternoon you can either visit the indigenous forest pygmy tribe, the Batwa, or take a walk through the jungle, either to see birds and monkeys or climb one of the many hills to get the best views.

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking
After an early breakfast, you will set off towards what will undoubtedly be the highlight of your safari, the unforgettable experience that is Mountain Gorilla tracking. Upon sighting them, you will stay with them for one hour as they eat, rest and bond with their young. To reach them it can take anywhere between 30 mins to 4 hours, so be prepared for a long trek through the humid rainforest.
