Lake Kivu

Overview:

A 90km long beautiful island studded lake. In the North you have the town of Rubavu, also known as Gisenyi, which has relaxing sandy beaches, and being located only two hours’ drive from Volcanos national park make it the perfect place to relax after Gorilla tracking. Further south you have the town of Karongi, also known as Kibuye. Undoubtedly the prettiest and most romantic part of lake Kivu and probably the whole of Rwanda. An Island boat tour is well worth doing, especially visiting the small Island which they say is home to over 1 million bats!
