Rwenzori Mountains

 

Overview:

 

The fabled 'Mountains of the Moon' are the backdrop to the Southwestern region of Uganda, and, being the highest mountain range in Africa, they offer plenty to the experienced climber. It's snowcapped equatorial peaks, and rich forest on the lower slopes make the Rwenzori's a magical place to visit.

Location:

 

Located in southwest Uganda, about 1-hour 30-min from Kibale, this mountain range forms the natural border with Congo.

 

Accommodation:

 

On your trek you will be staying in basic huts, bandas and tents. The night before your trek you will be staying at a budget hotel near the park entrance. Definitely one for the more adventurous traveller.
